The Secretary of Mobility and Transport (SMT) will implement measures against the illegal taxi service operating on the Ecological Perimeter. Fifty public transport units will be added on the stretch from Camino Real to Cholula to Valsequillo Boulevard. The head, Silvia Tanús Osorio, acknowledged in a press conference that this illegal service represents a problem on the roads, despite some considering it a "necessary evil" due to the high demand for transportation in the area.

Tanús Osorio pointed out that the uncontrolled increase of irregular units has been a problem and committed to enforcing the law, as these units lack the necessary insurance for passengers since they are private vehicles transporting up to five people at a time. After a recent operation in Lomas de Angelópolis, adequate public transport is guaranteed on the Perimeter with the circulation of the 50 units, which include those from line 4 of RUTA.

In 2024, the former head of the SMT, Omar Álvarez Arronte, revealed worrying figures identifying more than 1,700 illegal taxis in the municipalities of San Andrés Cholula, Coronango, and Cuautlancingo. Tanús Osorio explained in a subsequent interview that neighbors from the clusters in Lomas de Angelópolis will meet to discuss the future of transportation in that area, characterized by being a private residential area with access controls and guard booths.

In another aspect, the secretary reported that the call for the Road Proximity Agents program concluded with 527 applications received. This year, 355 agents will be hired to assist in the prevention of traffic accidents. Currently, the agency is reviewing profiles to select those who meet the established requirements.
